If you need a good kick in the pants to get your creative juices flowing and seek motivation, this book will DO IT!
I had no idea that I was resisting "my passion". I ran into a few challenges this past spring and as a result I was losing my momentum and procrastinating. I became paralyzed. This book shakes you up and makes you realize that the only choice you have is to keep going or your passion will be buried. When things feel like they are falling apart, it is a sign that we are being tested to see if we want our treasure bad enough. Once I regained my trust and showed up, the river started flowing again.
Steven Pressfield writes:
Are you paralyzed with fear? That’s a good sign. Fear is good. Like self-doubt, fear is an indicator. Fear tells us what we have to do. Remember our rule of thumb: The more scared we are of a work or calling, the more sure we can be that we have to do it.
Resistance is experienced as fear; the degree of fear equates the strength of Resistance. Therefore, the more fear we feel about a specific enterprise, the more certain we can be that that enterprise is important to us and to the growth of our soul."
In summary, what I learned....
Step 1: Show up and keep going.
Step 2: Show up and keep going.
Step 3: Show up and keep going.
This is all you need to do each day is to take a step and it will help beat the resistance.
